Leo Damascus I (084) £245.95
A
truly rare and unique piece of work and a must for
your collection, blending the centuries-old art of
hand forged Damascus with a piece of history. The
Leo Damascus, a high performance Damascus steel, was
made available to Boker through a noted European Damascus
forger, Markus Balbach. The steel used in this knife
is forged out of the barrel of the German battle tank
Leopard I, thus Leo Damascus. This specialty steel
is not available to the market and there is no material
number even assigned to it because it was only used
by the military. Herr Balbach was fortunate to acquire
some for the exclusive use of Boker. A chromium-manganese
and vanadium tool steel alloy was added to this extremely
wear-resistant barrel steel. The result is a remarkably
high hardness for Damascus steel (63-65 HRC). A very
high performance Damascus. The pattern provided on
the blade is labeled "small pyramid", providing
a spectacular work of art; and as with all true Damascus,
every blade is different. Handle material is hard
coated 6061-T6 aluminium and features exotic desert
ironwoods inlays. Liner locking. Includes certificate
of authenticity and gift box. Serialised.

Damascus 2005 £249.95
The
brand new Boker Damascus collector's knife goes back
to the roots of the classic bolster lockback folding
knives. A beautiful and traditional design in a presentation
grade. The blade is, as expected, forged of 300 layers
of breathtaking Damascus steel. The legendary lockback
locks the blade securely in the open position. The
handle is made of hand-picked and exclusive Thuya
wood, which blends perfectly with the Damascus. Only
the best materials and precise work done by hand are
good enough for this masterpiece. As a sign of quality
we gave our Boker emblem to the handle. The innovation
of this knife is that we have used a bolster made
of real Damascus for the first time. The fine line
of the brass liner is an attractive contrast to the
Damascus bolster and the warm tones of the exotic
Thuya wood handles. This serialised and limited collector's
knife comes with a wooden gift box and a certificate
of authenticity. There will only be 999 pieces available,
and when they're gone, they're gone!

Damascus 2006 (112006)
£265.95
"Masame
Tsukuri" is the Japanese term for forging Damascus
steel like wood grain. In Europe, it is called "Wild
Damascus", which is used for the first time for
this special annual knife. The structure is a natural
result of the forging process, rather than an embossing
die (tool). The connoisseur of the international cutlery
industry will recognize that we used the patented
Spyderhole®. Our friends at SPYDERCO in Colorado
granted exclusive permission to use it for our annual
Damascus knife. That you, Spyderco! Specially selected
300-year-old root wood from a nut tree, air-dried
10 years, is equivalent to our standards for an exclusive
collector's series. Presented in a wooden gift box.
Limited to 999 pieces worldwide.

Damascus 588 by Dietmar Pohl (112006)
£285.95
It
was high time for Boker to present a new fixed blade
Damascus knife. Dietmar Pohl thought of the pure collector,
but also of the user of such a knife in the field.
That is why we chose stainless Damascus with 180 layers.
Our Swedish supplier called this particular knife
pattern "Odin's Eye". According to the Nordic
legend, nothing can be hidden before the eye of Odin.
Solid nickel silver cross guard and pommel guarantee
a very solid construction. The blade is fastened by
a screw at the end cap. Handle is Ziracote wood from
Belize - a firmly structured, water-repellent wood.
Includes solid wooden gift box and certificate of
authenticity. Serialised.

Herb Derr Birdseye Damascus £319.95
Herb started making knives in 1990 and became a full time knife maker in 1994. He now also teaches Damascus bladesmithing. Herb makes everything on his knives himself, including the sheath. "Each total piece is considered functional art," says Herb.
Your eye is immediately drawn to his blades, which are 2,700-layer Damascus—alternating layers of tool steel and nickel that are folded, forged, refolded, and reforged until they form an elaborate bird's-eye pattern of bright and dark metal. After his blades are forged into their final shape, they are heat-treated to give them a hard edge and a soft spine that provides the best combination of good edge-holding ability and strength. They are also blued in order to heighten the contrast between the steel (which turns darker) and nickel (which remains bright) layers. The final touch is file work—small, decorative cuts on the spine of the blade
4 ¼" Birdseye Damascus.
Nickel Guard and pommel with box elder burl spacer and warthog Ivory handle.
Comes with Cowhide sheath with flower snake inlay. |
