Spyderco
Ladybug - Black (KBK) £38.95
Spyderco
offers a selection of keychain knives that include variations
and different colors of two models: the Ladybug and Jester.
Spyderco's name was founded on consistently offering reliable
high performance and even our smallest knives support this.
The key is ergonomic designs manufactured using exclusively
premium materials and locking systems. Even though the knives
are small enough to fit unnoticeably on a keychain, in a
purse or the bottom of a pant's pocket they easily cut half-inch
free hanging rope.
The
Ladybug is a clipless mini-lock back folder that bites through
half-inch thick rope like it's cutting air. Attach it to
a key-ring or zipper pull or slip it unobtrusively in a
pocket or purse. The Ladybug's uses are limitless, and its
ready whenever you find yourself in need of a sharp blade.
SpyderEdge or PlainEdge blade is hollow-ground AUS-6 stainless
with the one-hand-open Spyderco Round Hole. The FRN handle
is covered with Volcano-Grip texture and available in black
or forest green. Its traditional back lock is positioned
half way down the spine for unlocking the blade one-handedly.

Centofante IV (C66 PBK 4) £63.95
Spyderco
is fortunate to have collaborated on numerous knife designs
with custom knifemaker Frank Centofante over the past decade.
Frank’s lifetime of experience in designing and crafting
knives guarantees style and function in a gentleman’s
folder. Spyderco’s Centofante4 folder represents the
evolutionary refinement of previous Centofante/Spyderco
collaborations. Its thin-profiled fiberglass reinforced
nylon (FRN) handle is furrowed with grip enhancing channels
and inset with a Palladium silver Spyderco logo bug. Adding
security and ease of deployment, the back-lock is positioned
mid-spine. Cut out of the locking lever is a David Boye
Dent, diminishing the feasibility of gripping the knife
handle tightly enough while cutting to unintentionally release
the lock. The Centofante4 features a Wharncliffe VG-10 steel
blade that has both a hollow-grind and a non-sharpened spine
swedge-grind. Prominently rising above the Spyderco Round
Hole is a crest for the thumb keeping it in controlled contact
with the blade. Right-hand steel pocket clip positions the
folder for tip-up/tip-down carry. Nested steel liner in
the handle creates rigidity and a foundation for the clip’s
screw attachment.

Centofante III (C66 PBK 3) £73.95
If
you move in custom knife industry circles and/or attend
knife shows you will have heard of Frank Centofante. In
addition to being a celebrated and longtime custom knifemaker
Frank is a past President of the Knifemaker's Guild, a strong
voice in the cutlery world and a revered and respected craftsman.
Collaborating on knife designs with him is something Spyderco
has been fortunate enough to do several times. Our latest
offering is the Centofante III gentleman's folder.
The
Centofante III has a thin-profiled, lightweight FRN handle.
Two channels are furrowed out of the handle for better grip
and a Palladium silver Spyderco bug is inlayed into its
surface. For added security and convenience the back-lock
is positioned midway on the spine and David Boye Dent is
cut from the locking lever. The VG-10 blade has both a hollow-grind
and swedge-grind with non-sharpened spine serrations to
hold the thumb steady when cutting. A black steel pocket
clip positions for tip-up/down, right-hand carry.

Salt I (C88 PBK) £81.95
A
myth in the knife world is that, out there somewhere exists
steel with high-performance cutting abilities that cannot
rust. A Japanese steel foundry recently turned this myth
into reality with the introduction of a steel they call
H1. H1 is a PH steel meaning it is a precipitation-processed
alloy, that's rolled hard without heat-treating and has
.1% nitrogen which acts like carbon in the steel matrix,
but does not react to chlorine making rust. Surprisingly,
it holds a sharpened cutting edge comparable to the premium
knife steels being used in the industry by most knife manufacturers.
One
of Spyderco's top sellers is our Delica Model. Users gravitate
to it due to its sensible size, versatile shape and tested
durability. It makes complete sense to plug H1 into this
model, so we did, with a couple modifications. Salt I has
a more rounded tip that's a bit thicker at the point. Since
H1 was developed specifically for use in and around water,
rounding the tip better met the requirements of cutting
chores associated with boating and fishing. The Spyderco
Round Hole is increased in diameter to 14mm facilitating
easier access for gloved or wet hands. All inside/outside
steel components (lock bar, pins and clip) have been treated
making them impervious to rust and pitting. Volcano Grip
texturing covers both sides of the FRN handle for friction-resistance
to slipping. David Boye's locking lever dent is a standard
feature that inhibits the lock from accidental release if
the handle is gripped with great force. A matching black
titanium pocket clip positions for left/right tip-up portability.
A hole running through the hollow clip screw makes a lanyard
pipe for stringing thong or cord through when using around
water.

Bill Moran feather weight (FB02 P) £99.95
Bill
Moran is recognized as the grandfather of American custom
knifemaking and the founding father of the American Bladesmith
Society. He started pounding steel, making knives more than
fifty years ago. If you're lucky enough to find a custom-made
Moran to buy, expect to shell out five-figures, minimum.
His work and designs are that revered.
Spyderco is privileged to offer a production fixed-blade
collaboration patterned in Bill Moran's ageless tradition.
We've made it available in two distinct blade shapes. The
FB02 (pictured) has a drop-point shape while the FB01 (see
related item below) has an upswept Bowie-style blade. Both
blades are flat-ground VG-10 and carry Bill's signature.
They are tapered, starting thick where the blade joins the
handle, thinning down the spine to a fine, uniformly ground
tip. In the hand the knife conveys a unique feeling of balance,
called by some a sweet spot. The sweet spot is due to the
blade and handle being comparable in weight. This balance
transfers into a feeling of steady control over the cutting
edge. The FRN handle three-dimensionally fills out the palm
and is inlayed with a panel of non-sliding Kraton. Highly
recommended for hunting and camping both models come in
a molded Kydex sheath with multi-position Tek-Lok fastening
system.
