Appalachian Origin Mini Axe

Whether for the cosy warm fire in your fireplace at home or the campfire in front of your tent – ​​the practical Böker Plus Appalachian Origin Mini Axe is a must-have as a compact and versatile axe for camping and home use. As with the other models in the series, the axe head is made of 1055 carbon steel in the Rhenish style.

There are three key differences: While the Small and Big models have robust and universal axe grinds, the edge of the Origin Mini Axe has a polished knife grind, which also allows for practical carving work such as feathering sticks. Furthermore, the axe head is left with a rough blacksmith's surface.

Finally, long-fibre ash wood is used for the handle, which, unlike hickory, transmits fewer vibrations to the hand holding the axe. In the days when home stoves were still fuelled by wood, this type of axe was used for chopping small pieces of firewood, which are also needed for outdoor cooking fires. The older trade name "kitchen axe" dates back to this time.
