Bladepoint Ghoul

The Bladepoint Ghoul is a result of a need a tool, make a tool situation. Primarily meant as a leather cutter, but it will make quick work of most fabrics too. The design is a cross between a Kiridashi and a Blanchard and can be used for both push and pull cuts. The slight belly on the edge improves cutting performance over the Kiridashi, and its much smaller stature makes it more nimble than a full size Blanchard.

Featuring a single bevel, the Ghoul offers a very precise cut. Having the cutting point at the side of the blade instead of the middle enables you to see exactly where you are cutting. Also, the single bevel design has a much finer edge than the normal scandi or flat grinds with a secondary bevel.

A well rounded butt allows force to be comfortably applied when held in the palm and the bulbous handle offers a great grip however you grab it. The Ghoul is made in 3,2mm thick 80CrV2 carbon steel. This is a huge step up from the generic "stainless" steel most leatherworking tools are marked with. Using the same materials and methods as in the larger hunting knives guarantees a long lasting tool.
